I’ve definitely learned the hard way that overlooking worn loader bucket pins can lead to some major headaches.
What’s your go-to method for checking them?
Do you have any clever tricks for spotting wear early, or do you just rely on feel and sound?

Had my fair share of problems with worn pins. Now, I always give them a quick wiggle and listen for any weird sounds. If something feels off, I take a closer look to spot any wear it keeps bigger issues from cropping up later

Dealing with worn bucket pins can be a real pain!
I make sure to check for play and notice any strange resistance while I'm using it.
A quick glance for cracks or shiny spots lets me catch wear before it gets worse.

I’ve gotten into a routine with my loader bucket pins doing the wobble test, listening for sounds, and looking for cracks. If anything seems off, I tackle it right away to avoid a bigger headache down the road

@Zialorin try to look for bleeding rust. if you see fine, orange dust or streaks coming out from the pin joints, it’s a dead giveaway that the pin is moving inside the bushing and grinding away
it’s the easiest way to spot wear before you even touch the machine

It started to squeak like a shopping cart which got me a bit concerned. I took the time to clean the pins and apply some grease. Then I kept an eye on any uneven movement while cycling through it. A flashlight and a pry bar quickly reveal what's going on. If there's noise and some play chances are they're close to needing replacement.
