Ok, so I’m having a bit of a hiccup with the loader valve on my shiny new L2502 tractor. It's sticky, and man, controlling the bucket is a real headache!

Will this break-in after some time, or should I be thinking about replacement?

Has anyone else run into this issue or have any tips on how to fix it?

I've seen this kind of thing more than once over the years, and with a brand-new L2502, it's not unusual for the loader valve to feel stiff early on. A few owners have mentioned that the joystick can stick or continue raising the bucket even after being released, which suggests either a tight linkage or a detent issue within the valve body. Sometimes the ball and spring under the detent cover get gummed up or rusty, even on newer machines, and a good cleaning and light lube can make a big difference. If your joystick is mounted directly to the valve, you might want to check the swivel joints under the boot for binding. Did you ever get a chance to look under the boot or check if the cables are remote mounted? If it hasn't smoothed out by now and you're still under warranty, I'd say it's worth having the dealer take a look before attempting to fix it yourself.
