Was at my grandparents' farm the other day and spotted their old Kubota just sitting there in the field. It took me back to those childhood days when I would ride on tractors with my dad. What’s your earliest memory of being on a tractor or spending time on a farm?

I go way back. Right after WWII we were on a farm and we had horsies. My Father had me driving the team hitched to a wagon while he picked up trash in the pasture. A rabbit was hiding in an old rusty bucket and ran out spooking the horsiess and I had a runaway on my hands. I was 7 years old. I got them under control. Not long after that Dad sold the horsies and purchased a Farmall Regular tractor. It wasn't long after that when I started driving in Farmall.

That's such an amazing story! It's fascinating how you went from being around horses to hopping on a Farmall at such a young age!

My first time driving a tractor was when I was about 10. Pawpaw had a 1990 or so Case 485 he pulled the hay trailer with and a Case 1835 we moved hay with. He was tired of driving the tractor to the hay field then walking back for the Case. He huffed and looked at me and pointed at the tractor and said "can you handle that?" I said "I don't know pawpaw." He said "well get your a$$ up there and let's find out." LOL! Been driving them ever since

Sounds like your Pawpaw had a real talent for teaching. That’s such a great story.
