You’re in the shop because your hydraulics are feeling a bit too intense under load. You grab a gauge and start to second-guess the relief. What’s your go-to method for checking, tweaking, and figuring out when it’s actually dialed in perfectly?

I screw in the gauge, let it warm up, and test a remote for a quick spike check.
If the reading jumps too high, I just ease off the relief a little and test it again.

I begin with cold, then switch to hot, recording both readings and making minor adjustments. When the pressure stays steady under load without any noise or jerky movements, I figure it's good to go and get back to what I was doing.

I adjust the relief just enough to eliminate the noise, cycle everything a few times, then check the pressure again.
If the loader runs smoothly and the pump sounds content, I stop tweaking it.
