My ZG222 is having issues. It was running smoothly until it began to sputter and die. I suspect it is clogged with grass clippings. What do I do?

Have you ever resolved the sputtering issue last Oct or are you still chasing it down? If you think grass clippings are the problem, start by checking the air intake and cooling fins around the engine. A clogged air filter or blocked cooling path can cause poor combustion and overheating. Inspect the fuel line and filter, as debris can enter and restrict the flow. If the carburetor hasn't been cleaned in a while, it may be worth removing it and inspecting for varnish or buildup. Let us know what you've already tried and we can go from there.

Try cleaning it! Had the same issue with my dad's ZG222, it started sputtering after a long mow through thick grass. Turned out the air filter was packed with clippings and dust. We cleaned it out and also checked the fuel line and carb for buildup. If you haven't already, pop the filter out and see if light still shines through it.
