I’m having a bit of a struggle with the deck on my ZD122R, it’s wobbling like crazy! I’m pretty sure it’s the spindle bearings that are causing the chaos. I’ve been hunting online for replacements, but no luck so far.

Anyone know where I can snag a set for the 42" Kawasaki? Any tips would be awesome!

I know I'm responding to a post from last year but I'm curious if you ever got this issue resolved.

You were right in suspecting the spindle bearings. Before ordering parts, it's crucial to confirm the correct model. It's very likely you have a Z122R Kommander, as the ZD models are commercial diesels. Your mower also has a powerful Kawasaki engine, but the 42-inch deck itself is made by Kubota, which is what you'll need to look up for parts.

A severe wobble almost always indicates worn bearings, especially if a blade has been bent or if it has been running for a while without grease. For your mower, the correct deck model is the RCK42P-122Z. The bearing for the spindle is Kubota part number 08101-06205. You'll need 2 bearings per spindle, plus the upper and lower seals. You can look up the diagrams on a site like Coleman Equipment to see the full assembly.

One word of caution before you begin is to confirm whether your spindle housings are the serviceable (bolted) type or a sealed, press-fit unit, as some newer ones are not designed to be rebuilt easily. Do you still have the original pulley on the bad spindle or has it been replaced before?

You can find them as OEM singles, 2 packs, or rebuild kits online, eBay and Amazon usually have them
