I've been really pushing my Kubota hard for field prep recently, and I swear one of them is slurping down diesel like it's water. Which Kubota model in your range uses the most fuel, and what kind of load are we dealing with?

Heavy loads can really take a toll, fuel consumption largely hinges on the model and the type of work it's doing.

Have you recently cleaned or replaced the air filter? A dirty filter can really rob HP making the engine work harder to do the same job and eating up the fuel

I totally agree, that could definitely be another factor. Keeping that filter clean really does help with power and fuel efficiency.

what model do you have? If you’re running an M7 or M8 series, those big 4 and 6 cylinder engines are beasts, but they’ll definitely drink if you’re pulling a deep subsoiler or a heavy disc at high RPM
in heavy field prep, an M7-171 can easily burn more than 5 gallons per hour depending on soil density. are you using a turbo boosted gear?

Yeah, that makes sense. Those big M-series can really guzzle gas when they're pushed. I'm not running anything nearly that big, but hearing your numbers makes me feel better about what I'm seeing on my end.
