I got 400 hours on my Kubota Z122EBR-48 and I noticed it started having a slow start. It cranks for a long time before it finally fires up. Once it's running, it runs fine. I've checked or replaced the usual suspects.. new spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pickup line, vacuum hose to the rocker cover, and a new air filter and engine issue remains. I want to fix it myself before bringing it to the dealer.. What else can I check and deal with at home? Any tips?

What a bummer!

But here are a few things I have in mind and also, ensure that the battery is disconnected before working on electrical stuff. For one, are there any unusual noises?

Also, any smell of fuel? this could mean that fuel is getting to the engine but not igniting properly. and oh, you can also check the manual for other things to look out for

hope you find the culprit soon!

Agree with @twisterpizza, you should make sure the battery is disconnected before anything. But also, it might be a battery problem? Weak battery can cause slow starts. Good luck and if you can;t find the problem, might be the carb as well, you can always go to the dealer.

It seems like your Kubota could be dealing with a weak battery, starter, or maybe even an ignition coil, which might be why it's starting slowly. First things first, double-check that the battery is fully charged, aim for about 12.6V. You should also listen for any strange noises coming from the starter. If the ignition coil isn't working properly, that could impact the spark as well. Don't forget to ensure that the fuel is fresh and that the choke is functioning correctly. If everything looks good and it's still giving you trouble, it might be a good idea to get a professional to take a closer look
