It's like a roller coaster here, cold temps, warm, hot, then freezing all within the same week. Talk about whip lash!

Who is ready for some warmer weather?

We got a some last night, we also need a lot more.

Probably going above 100 today!
how's the ac handling the heat?

I am turning into a Forager. I'm retired and live in some deep forest on a primitive lake. Last Summer I picked some "Chicken of the Woods' mushrooms and last night my Wife took some out of the freezer and fried them in garlic butter. Man were they gooooood!!!
I'm far from retiring, but i'd like to pick your brain about that kind of remote life

We are getting some badly needed rain today. Temps are back to normal in the 60s and 70s.
On Sunday afternoon Carol and I picked three pints of Gooseberries in our woods. Then she made a pie and we've been enjoying it ever since.
There are many types of Gooseberries nationally but our are the green and the thorny green. Don't let the thorns bother you, they're not very stiff. With this rain it looks like we'll have a great crop of wild black berries as well.
There several apps that you can get for you phone that identify mushrooms, trees, plants, birds, ect. I am very careful about what I forage and usually check more than one source. Try "Plant net", "Mushroom ID" and "Seek by INatuaralist" for birds and insects. I also have "Merlin Bird ID" for birds. If you want to listen air traffic in the US get "LiveATC.net". A friend of mine developed that one.

My neck of the woods is experiencing the headache causing weather. Sunny, then cloudy, then sunny, and like it's going to rain, but it's not, so you can guess I'm not having a very good day today

Our church has it's Summer festival today and it looks like it will get rained on, then get really hot. Close to 100 tomorrow.
I hate that, it sometimes feels impossible to breathe

Are we in the same neck of the woods? I'm deaing with the worst headache I've had for decades

I'm doing yard work getting ready for the 4th but it keeps raining. I've got the shrubs trimmed but too wet to mow so far.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

They lied again. It's overcast and drizzling. It's supposed to rain tomorrow too but the 4th looks good so far.

The weather has been beautiful for the last week.

My contractor delivered a load of lumber yesterday so I can rebuild our mailbox array. It is a roofed over complex of seven mailboxes with anther shelf for packages. It's in sore shape as it has been knocked down three times, (mostly by snow plows), and just patched up. Now a full rebuild. Fortunately I have a set of forks for my 3710 loader that I can use to move some of the larger pieces around. It pays to be prepared.

It finally cooled off for a while so I'm getting some outdoor work done. I have a set of forks that attach to the bucket, (made in China but really seem to be of high quality), so I used them to set up a work station out by the pole barn and moved the 12 foot 4x6s out there. Today I will start cutting. I'm repairing our seven unit mailbox setup with a roof and all.
