Hey guys!! I have a 2018 M6060 4WD and the front axle won't engage.. the dash light comes on when I flip the switch, but I get zero drive to the front wheels. It's really noticeable with the soft ground we have right now trying to move some firewood around.

I checked the basics and didn't see any leaks and the front drive shaft is turning so I know the main coupling is okay. Since the light is on but the 4WD isn't working, I'm leaning toward the 4WD solenoid being the issue or maybe something hydraulic or electrical is keeping the clutch pack from engaging.

I dropped by the dealer the other day and he's still swamped with repairs, so I'm hoping to troubleshoot this myself. Any ideas on how to confirm if the solenoid is getting power or if the issue is internal? Any advice is appreciated!!

Make sure to check the voltage at the solenoid while the switch is on, it should read close to 12V. If everything looks good there, the next step is to test the hydraulic pressure to confirm that the clutch is engaging correctly.

Don't forget to check the ground connection for the solenoid as a poor ground can sometimes look like a power problem. If the pressure looks good, think about removing the solenoid to see if there's any debris or if it's sticking.

Hey, also take a look at the front axle collar and splines. Wearing or misalignment can cause rotation without drive. Check this first before you start looking at deeper issues.

Great work on the troubleshooting. It's all about those voltage, ground and hydraulic checks. And that callout regarding the axle collar and splines is just right for addressing mechanical slip concerns.
