Had a bit of a mishap with my L3800 - flipped it over like a pancake! 😳 The thing just wouldn’t turn off no matter what I did. I kept turning the key on and off, but it just kept chugging along for a good 2 minutes before finally calling it quits.

Anyone know what might’ve caused this? Or is there anything I should check out? Honestly, I’m feeling pretty sheepish about the whole situation, but I’m just glad I’m in one piece! lol

I just saw your post from last year. The most important thing is that you're okay. Machines can be fixed or replaced, but people can't, so I'm glad you weren't hurt.

What you experienced with the engine is a known behavior for diesel machines after a rollover. It most likely began to burn its own engine oil from the crankcase as fuel. The key switch only controls the fuel shutoff solenoid for the diesel in the tank, so it would have no effect on the oil getting into the cylinders. It will run until that ingested oil is all burned away.

Before you try to start it again, take out the air filter and check if it's soaked with oil. Also, check your engine oil level, since it's probably low. Were you able to get the machine upright, and did you see a lot of blue or white smoke while it was running by itself?
