I've gone to other forums, but I haven't gotten any reply,

So, my dad has a Kubota T1400H, it's a great mower

Sadly, the ignition coil broke. A new one from Kubota costs a whopping $400!

My dad bought a couple of cheaper replacements, but the holes for the bolts didn't line up.

Has anyone successfully used a regular, non-Kubota brand ignition coil on their Kubota T1400H mower?

We're looking for an affordable generic coil that actually fits. Thanks!

Yeah, my mate swapped in Briggs & Stratton for it. All he did is just matching the coil space and armature gap to make it fit, not just the bolt holes. For coils, you could get Magneto-type.

Yeah some have made aftermarket coils work just by slightly modifying the bolt holes, but try to look for ones made for Kawasaki engines with similar specs. Just doublecheck compatibility before buying ofc
