A huge winter storm is heading our way, stretching 2,000 miles from the southern Plains to the Northeast. Expect lots of snow, ice, and some bone-chilling temps.
Many people could face power outages, roads are going to be really dangerous, and wind chills might drop to unsafe levels.

Be smart. Be safe. Get ready now. Only drive if you absolutely have to.

Just a quick check-in: Who's making sure their gas tanks are full? And for those with EVs who don’t have garages, how will you keep them charged? Is everyone stocked up on heating and cooking fuel?

Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near -10. Wind chill values as low as -39. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Some folks say this is a dangerous spell of weather, here in Minnesota we just call if Friday.

How’s everyone else holding up in this storm? Any memorable moments or smart tips for getting through it? We’d love to hear your updates and stories.

Wen didn't get much snow, just really cold. One night 20 below with some wind. I have my Kubota's block heater plugged in full time in case I need to use to pull someone out that's stuck. Anybody else do that.
When I was a teenager my Father had a John Deere G and there was a big hill just south of town. When we got an ice storm cars and trucks would spin out trying to get up the hill and my Brother and I would take a chain and pull them up the hill for a couple of bucks. The tractor had tire chains. We were young entrepreneurs. Our Dad didn't really approve though.

That’s super cold! Smart move to keep the block heater ready to go.

You and your brother were clearly ahead of your time.

Yeah, Nor’easters can be pretty intense! I’d definitely choose a chilly but calm day over battling wind and snow any time. Stay cozy out there.
