Quick attach bale spear compatible with L3301

New owner here with newbie question. the land pride model is $660. Other similar models are $350. Is quick attach bale spear universal or make/model specific? Thx

Quick attach spears are mostly universal if you're talking about the standard skid steer style mount, but not always. Some brands use proprietary plates or spacing, so you should check the back plate dimensions before buying a cheaper one. I've run off brand spears on my setup just fine, but a couple needed slight tweaks buh if yours has the standard QA faceplate, you should be good

Welcome to the Kubota family! Unfortunately, the bale spears aren't universal but @Lion3lli is right that many use the same standard mounting system. The most common one for a tractor your size is the skid steer quick attach or SSQA. It's a very popular system because it allows you to swap out different attachments easily.

The Land Pride you saw is probably an SSQA model while the others might be a universal "pin-on" style that you'd have to modify to fit your front end loader. It's always best to check the manufacturer's specs on the quick attach system. If it says SSQA, it'll likely work with your tractor's loader. You'll just need to make sure the attachment's weight and capacity are within your loader's limits.

Personally, I'd stick with a brand that specifies SSQA. It's worth the extra money for the convenience and safety!
