You’ve all been there on a frigid morning when your tractor just won’t warm up, and you can’t help but worry that the coolant might be causing some trouble. When the temp drops, even minor issues can escalate into major repairs in no time.

What tips, habits, or products have you found helpful in keeping frozen radiators or coolant problems at bay? We’d love to hear what’s worked for you to keep your tractors running smoothly through the winter.

Here in Minnesnowda we have to be careful with the diesel fuel. Around the first of November the diesel is changed from Summer to Winter blend. When it gets as cold as it is right now the Summer blend will gel and plug fuel filters. You can be running along just fine and the cold wind hits the fuel lines and they will plug right up.

I see what you mean, that chilly weather really challenges diesel engines. It must be tough for you to stay alert and ensure everything runs smoothly when it gets that cold.
