L3710 starting gremlin.

My 3710 starts right up but then after working for a while I will shut it off and it refused to turn over even with a booster. I take off the left hood cover and it starts again.
Is there some safety switch that is mounted there? Twice now it's done that and all I did was take that side cover off and it started. Strange.
