I'm trying to drain the clutch housing on my Kubota B2401, but the drain plug only backs out about 3/8" before it hits the loader frame.
has anyone successfully removed this plug without having to disconnect the loader? any tricks or specialty tools that worked?

You might be able to get it out with a thin box-end wrench or a flex-head ratchet, sometimes, just having the right angle tool can save you from the trouble of pulling the loader.

yep, been there. get it out far enough to see the threads, and just cut about 1/4" off the end of the bolt with a hacksaw or Dremel
you only need a few threads to hold the seal, and shortening the plug means it’ll actually clear the frame next time you need to drain it
make sure to clean the threads with a file so it doesn't cross thread going back in

Thanks for the tip! That’s a really smart workaround. I appreciate you sharing what actually worked in real life.
