Selecting hydraulic oil grades can be quite the task, particularly if you're dealing with a cold start or making a mid-season switch. You might catch yourself gazing at the oil shelf longer than you planned. So, what grade of hydraulic oil are you using, in what conditions, and what has made it work for you?

Last winter, my go-to oil was getting thick like syrup when it was cold.
I switched to a slightly thinner stuff for the winter,
and now the loader reacts right away with no slow surprises.

I just follow the directions for summer and then go down a grade in the winter. It's no big deal, just good flow and no problems when the hydraulics have to move quick on a cold morning

After a few mornings of wondering why the bucket wouldn’t move, I started keeping two types around. I use the lighter oil on cold days and the regular stuff on hot days. It's kind of like changing shoes for different weather, but for hydraulics.
