Have you ever had that enlightening moment when an older tractor owner shared a nugget of wisdom that just stuck with you? This is all about those golden tips that made the whole experience of running or fixing a tractor so much smoother.

I started driving tractors around 1950 when I was 10 years old. Then you had to hand crank to start it after resetting the magneto. The seat was steel as was the steering wheel which was not nice on cold days. I cultivated corn and soy beans and to raise the cultivator I had to stop the tractor and stand up to pull the levers.
We've come a long way baby. Just enjoy what you have now days.

Wow, that really puts things in perspective. It's good to remember how much easier we have it now. Thanks for sharing that!

What an incredible slice of history! It’s tough to imagine tackling all that in the frigid cold with steel all around. You’ve definitely got the right to say we’ve got it pretty easy now.

Oh man, going from cranking that thing by hand to just hitting a button? Talk about living the dream.
