You’ve experienced enough unexpected breakdowns to realize that just going with the flow doesn’t cut it. Over time, you’ve crafted a little routine that helps everything run more smoothly. Now, you’re curious if there are any tips from others that you might be missing. What’s the maintenance habit that has saved you the most time and spared you from headaches?

I used to be all, I’ll check it later, which really meant, I’ll be fixing this thing on the side of the road. Now, I do a quick check every week fluids, belts, anything that looks wonky. This little thing has saved me from so many surprise breakdowns, you wouldn't believe.

After my day was ruined a few times by stuff breaking down, I started keeping a simple log. Nothing special – just dates, what I looked at, and any weird noises. It’s amazing how easy it is to catch stuff early when you can look back and see what's up.

I ran things until they died, which always backfired at the worst time. Now I clean after every use, grease the spots that always give me trouble, and replace the cheap stuff before it breaks. It’s not fun, but it saves me a lot of time and money.
