Weather that makes tractor work rough

You know those days when the weather just makes tractor work feel like a real slog? Whether it’s the sun beating down on you, mud from a downpour, or those icy winds that chill you to the bone it can be tough to get anything done. Working in those conditions really challenges your patience.

What weather do you find most frustrating, and how do you manage to keep things moving along?

Cold winds? Those are the worst. I remember hauling hay with my dad one winter, and our hands froze, even with gloves. Now I wear layers, keep warm drinks close by, and split work into smaller chunks to stay warm and get stuff done.

The hot sun always wins. When I worked in the fields during the summer, my shirts would be soaked. Now, I take it easy, drink water, and take breaks in the shade.

My 3710 has a cab that is heated and air conditioned. Even on days around zero I work in shirt sleeves.

It's been below zero here for a while now but my neighbor's, (who has Parkinson's), Bobcat with the blower cannot get up his hill from his house. His wife asked if I could help because she's worried about his anxiety when he spins out. I took my 3710 over this afternoon and plowed the snow and ice off the hill and never spun a wheel. He was out in the yard smiling the whole time. It made me feel good.
