have a Kubota Sidekick RTV XG850 and it's backfiring, also losing power at just 100 hours
it idles fine, but under full throttle, it pops, bangs, and hits a wall at about 20 MPH. almost like a rev limiter or governor is kicking in early.
I suspect it's a fuel filter or pump issue, but 100 hours seems awfully early for those to fail
I’ve also read about potential ECU power glitches causing similar symptoms on these models.

has anyone dealt with this limp mode behavior on an XG850? Is it a fuel delivery problem, or should I be looking at the electronics?

have you checked if there are any mouse nests in the air box and engine compartment?
I had the same issue before, had a bad ignition coil and was running on one cylinder

start by checking for loose or damaged wires and then check your plugs

Great idea. Make sure to look for any critters, loose wires and plugs, those little problems can lead to serious headaches down the line.
