I’ve been dealing with some transmission slip on my L3901, and it’s been a bit of a headache. I want to figure out if it’s low fluid, a worn clutch pack, or something more serious before I call the dealer and spend a ton of money. What’s your approach to diagnosing transmission slip? I’m thinking of checking the fluid, doing some pressure tests, and listening for any weird noises, but I’d love to know how you avoid just guessing.

I know exactly what you mean, it's never a pleasant experience.
I usually start by checking the fluid level and giving it a sniff. Then, I look at the filters and linkages.
A quick pressure test often reveals whether it's a wear issue or just a matter of the system not getting enough fuel.

You've got the right approach. Deal with the fluid, filters, and linkages first, then test the pressure while it’s under load.
If the pressures stay consistent, you might have avoided a hefty repair bill and just need to address something minor.

You're definitely on the right path.
I’d suggest noting the symptoms when the engine is cold versus when it's hot,
checking the fluid’s condition, and then running a pressure test.
